Meet our Chef Jun Xiao, the chef of the Peacock Chinese Restaurant.
Chef Jun Xiao was born and raised in Beijing, China. When he was young he never thought he would grow up to be an award winning Chef. His major influence was his mother who told him “Do whatever you are passionate about but give your hundred percent”; so he did. He went to culinary school to discover the world of cooking and he was not disappointed. He became a promising student and apprentice during his time at school. His Culinary Coach noticed him quickly and sent him for the most challenging cooking competition in the district. He won the first place and was confident he would continue his career in the field. After he gained experience in his home country he wanted to introduce and spread the authentic Chinese Cuisine around the world.
Chef Jun Xiao chose to come to Dubai after working at the Sheraton Jeddah Hotel and has been the executive chef of the Peacock Restaurant since 2005. His specialties are Peking duck, Chilly Beef, Chicken & Prawns in Soy Bean Sauce and extensive Dim Sum selection at the Peacock Restaurant at the Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort, Dubai.
